BABCN

Bay Area Breast Cancer Network (BABCN) is a non-profit, organization committed to finding the cause, prevention and cure for breast cancer through Education, Support and Advocacy. Formed by a small group of breast cancer survivors in 1990, BABCN was created to increase awareness about breast health and breast cancer, provide information and support services to women, and positively effect public policy at the State and Federal level. We are proud of the difference we are making for women and families and encourage you to take advantage of our programs and services.

A breast cancer survivor's knowledge and understanding is a valuable resource for helping a woman understand her choices for surgery, treatment, healing and returning to wellness. Women with breast cancer have learned much from their personal experiences and from each other. Each day we provide women with important information and resources about breast cancer, help them form a plan of action and support them on each step of their journey.

Support Groups
Our support groups are led by licensed professionals.

Primary Diagnosis - Women facing a breast cancer diagnosis, surgery, and treatment can benefit from the information and understanding that comes from a support group experience. Our support groups offer a relaxed, confidential opportunity for sharing questions, concerns, and feelings with other women who have breast cancer and provide a source for inspiration and hope.

Transition Group - Women who have completed a primary support group experience and want to stay connected or become involved with the organization.

Recurrence Diagnosis - Women experiencing a second breast cancer diagnosis and new treatment choices need information, understanding and support. Our metastatic support group offers a relaxed, confidential place for women dealing with those special concerns that come with a breast cancer recurrence.
